Study at a Desk that makes you FEEL SERIOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. You want a sturdy Desk that does not wabble because it is flimsy. You want a desk that has REAL and beautiful wood grain to admire. You can admire the work of the Creator God. A large desk allows you to spread out maps. You can cross examine several books at the same time.

Generous desk drawers with sturdy hardware keep your files at hand. Pens, pencils and markets will also be handy. You have everything you need at the ready so that you can study for hours without getting up to search for things.

You will need extra desk space for research projects that are on hold. You would not want to put everything away because you would lose your place and you already invested a lot of time in gathering relevant books, documents and maps.

You need a sturdy yet attractive table/desk. You need a table that allows you to fit a chair under it from every side. You need to sit at a table that serves as an extra desk. So, you do not want any obstructions attached to the legs.

Shallow drawers are very convenient for keeping the particular pens, pencils and markers that you chose for your research project.

Get an attractive canvas cover for the desk. This will keep papers from being moved or falling off the desk. A plain cover will also make your office look neater.

You need to have a dedicated location for thick books because they could be damaged when moved.

You might want a small table especially for your Dictionary. You might want a portable and tilted stand that sits on a larger table.

Personally, I like to have my Dictionary on the table where I work so that I do not need to get up and walk to the Dictionary. When a researcher is taken away from his immediate place, his train of thought can be interrupted. Plus, he would need to carry papers and pens with him in order to take notes.

You need to decide which setup best suits you. My recommendation, based on my experience, is to have the Dictionary on the desk that I am working at.

You need an attractive storage place. A Handsome and spacious Amoire could be used to hide away your photocopy machine, scanner and other equipment. You could keep eyesores like reams of paper and other supplies out of view.

Get an attractive Wood File Cabinet to keep your office area attractive to you and a pleasure to be in.

In no time, you will need to save your accumulated research in some kind of order. You will need separate drawers for separate research projects.

You DO NOT want backaches due to cheaply made chairs that are essentially padded boards. Back aches will thwart your studies because of discomfort and pain. You do not want to feel pain from your bones pressing against a hard wooden board.

Get a Chair that keeps your butt cupped in. Cheaply made chairs make your body slide forward. They do not have any back support. Get a contoured chair that is designed to lift your knees, cup in your butt and support your lower back. If possible, get a chair that tilts the back forward so that you can be comfortable while doing close-up work on your desk. If possible, get a chair that can tilt your knees upward while tilting your butt downward.

Take care of your health and precious eye sight! With a Full Spectrum Lamp, your eyes will not be under stress like they are with other types of bulb light. You will be able to study for hours without being discouraged by eyestrain.

Your Office Lamp should be adjustible so that the light can be extended over the book that you are reading. This will eliminate shadows that you would have to deal with by contorting your body into uncomfortable positions.
